Game developer GungHo's profit seen up 10-fold

TOKYO -- Japanese smartphone game developer GungHo Online Entertainment Inc.'s consolidated operating profit is expected to surge nearly 10 times on the year to around 90 billion yen ($867 million) for fiscal 2013.

The record high owes to its smash hit "Puzzle & Dragons," which has been downloaded more than 23 million times. This title, which combines elements of puzzle and role-playing games, is free but charges for a variety of in-game items.
