Nintendo sticks to old game plan, pins hopes on year-end sales

OSAKA -- Nintendo announced its consolidated results for the April-September half on Wednesday, and anyone looking for positive signs could find nuggets of hope. But the Japanese video game maker still has not responded in any solid way to the structural changes that smartphones have wrought in the market.
