OSAKA -- Nippon Shokubai's net profit for fiscal 2015 apparently jumped 36% to 26 billion yen ($233 million), a record tally thanks to brisk demand for disposable-diaper materials.
That would top the forecast 31% increase to 25 billion yen, as shipments of mainstay superabsorbent polymers expanded in Asia, Europe and the U.S. But revenue in the year ended in March looks to have contracted some 15% to just over 320 billion yen, as product prices fell.
