Plant fire seen slashing cosmetics maker Mandom's profit 15%

TOKYO -- Mandom, a Japanese developer of skin-care and hair products, likely saw operating profit drop 15% to around 6 billion yen ($50 million) for the nine months ended in December as an explosion at an Indonesian factory in July dealt a blow to the subsidiary there.

However, robust cosmetics sales in Japan may prevent full-year operating profit from being as weak as previously forecast.
