TOKYO -- Sony released sluggish April-September earnings on Tuesday, due to a decline in overseas revenues mainly in the semiconductor sector due to a stronger yen, and an impairment loss it posted associated with the transfer of its battery business to Murata Manufacturing, which is scheduled for April 2017.
The electronics maker said its net profit plunged 78% on the year to 26 billion yen ($248 million) in the April-September period.
