Supermarket operator Kobe Bussan on track to record profit

KOBE -- Commercial-use supermarket operator Kobe Bussan is likely to book a 92% jump in net profit to a record 5 billion yen ($39.8 million) for the current fiscal year ending October 31.

The company, based in Hyogo Prefecture, had projected a 54% rise to 4 billion yen. Brisk sales of store-brand products and imported items are seen boosting profit, along with an increase in customers at new stores in greater Tokyo.
