TAIPEI -- Taiwan's technology sector, a barometer of conditions in the global electronics market, remains mired in a deep slump, the latest data shows.

In May, the trade-reliant island's exports contracted for the 16th consecutive month. And the 19 major Taiwanese tech companies on the Nikkei Asian Review's Asia300 watch list reported a 4.68% year-on-year decline in aggregate revenue.
