Theme parks stretch hours to lure more winter visitors

Huis Ten Bosch, a theme park in the city of Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture, that recreates a Dutch town, introduced nighttime illumination events in September.

TOKYO -- Amusement parks across Japan are extending their opening hours and putting on after-dusk events in a bid to get visitors to stay longer and spend more during the slow winter season.
