Tokyo exchange's 'disclosure lite' option stirs debate

TOKYO -- The Tokyo Stock Exchange is preparing to allow listed companies to issue simplified quarterly and full-year results to reduce compliance costs, but critics warn this could undo progress on disclosure.

The proposal is to be finalized after a roughly one-month public comment period. It would take effect from the fiscal year ending March 31.
