Hiroshi Tauchi is a professor of radiation biology and vice dean of the Faculty of Science at Ibaraki University in Mito, Japan. He was a member of a committee that advised the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry on the handling of treated Fukushima water.
The discharge of treated water from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant into the Pacific Ocean is scheduled to begin this summer.
