Franz-Stefan Gady is a research fellow for cyber, space and future conflict at the Institute for International Strategic Studies in London.

With Beijing stepping up its rhetoric and military threats against Taipei, the prospect of a conflict in the Taiwan Strait is a growing concern for Europe. The disruptions in economic, financial and trade flows as a result of such a military confrontation would be significant.
