Quad should lead region forward in securing mineral supply chains

U.S. and partners can pool efforts to de-risk and diversify sourcing of key inputs

Earlier this month, China abruptly introduced controls on the export of graphite, a key element of EV batteries. In recent months, Beijing has also tightened restrictions on overseas shipments of gallium, germanium and rare earth elements, materials also used as inputs for the making of EVs or computer chips.
