Foreign direct investment from the Asia-Pacific region into the U.S. has been a steady driver of American economic growth and a policy focus of President Joe Biden's administration. Japan has historically been the Asia-Pacific's largest investor, followed by Australia, South Korea and Singapore. Since Biden came to power, companies from the region have invested nearly $200 billion in the U.S.
