Military regime's assault on its own people exacerbates the 'polycrisis' after quake

"Child, this is [the] apocalypse," said a voice note, received within the first hours of Myanmar's devastating recent earthquake. It shook me to the core. It came from a veteran humanitarian whose voice had never cracked -- not during seasonal floods, pandemics, Cyclone Mocha or the Yagi Flood. Yet, this time, she wept.
