The U.S. has announced its Indo-Pacific strategy: work with friendly and allied countries on both security and economic issues with the objective of deterring China. With this made clear, like-minded nations should further deepen their cooperation with Washington and other relevant governments to promote regional stability.

Authoritarian countries continue their efforts to change the status quo. China is pressuring Taiwan with its coercive maritime advances; Russia is massing its forces around Ukraine; and North Korea is stepping up its missile and nuclear weapons programs. The security environment in these regions will only worsen if this continues.
