It is becoming increasingly clear that Chinese authorities will soon formally arrest a Japanese man in their custody on espionage charges. Time is running out.
China's practice of detaining foreign nationals for long periods without a clear explanation is utterly unacceptable. Tokyo should do everything in its power to free this man and other Japanese citizens being unfairly detained by China.
