The Group of Seven summit ended with leaders agreeing to broadly cooperate in dealing with China and the coronavirus. We welcome the return of coordination to the G-7, an organization that values democracy and the rule of law. We hope that member countries will work together to tackle global issues and take a leading role in bringing stability and prosperity.

This was the first in-person summit in two years. The leaders chatted and laughed without masks as they strolled along the beach during the summit, giving the impression that the meeting was back in action following years of dysfunction due to former U.S. President Donald Trump and his "America First" agenda.
