From David Lammy, British Foreign Secretary, writing on the occasion of Japan-U.K. economic "two-plus-two" dialogue on March 7.

Putin's illegal war in Ukraine has reinforced how blurred the line has become between security and economics, the Euro-Atlantic and the Indo-Pacific, the U.K.'s and Japan's interests. Putin has had to turn to soldiers from the DPRK (the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, North Korea's official name) to try to batter his way through the Ukrainian defenses. G7 economies have imposed stinging economic sanctions on the Kremlin, denying them access to $400 billion in assets. And the stronger economic growth across the G7, the easier we will find it to resist his naked aggression -- Putin only responds to strength.
