Direct investment in Japan expands for fourth straight year

TOKYO -- Foreign companies are stepping up direct investment in Japan amid the yen's weakness and hopes of economic growth.

     Direct investment by foreign businesses grew a fourth consecutive year in 2014 to 23.34 trillion yen ($191 billion), Ministry of Finance data released Friday shows.
