Singapore exports rise for second month as China demand rebounds

SINGAPORE (NewsRise) -- Singapore's non-oil exports climbed for a second straight month in December as a recovery in Chinese demand helped lift the fortunes of manufacturers and logistics companies in the city-state.

However, the prospect of protectionist measures from incoming U.S. President Donald Trump is prompting some caution about the outlook for Singapore, whose annual trade is more than three times the size of its gross domestic product.
