USS Carl Vinson anchors off Manila

US supercarrier is making its presence known in the South China Sea

MANILA -- The USS Carl Vinson on Friday called here for the first time in about four years. In doing so, the Nimitz-class supercarrier was apparently sending a message to China, which has constructed islets and military outposts in the South China Sea.
