Abe follows in father's footsteps with focus on Russia

TOKYO -- As a politician, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has often been compared to his late grandfather, former Prime Minister Nobusuke Kishi. But when it comes to diplomacy, Abe's focus on Russia clearly owes much to his father, who as Japan's foreign minister worked to build ties with Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev.
