TOKYO -- In February, a member of Lithuania's parliament received an email claiming that German soldiers stationed in the East European country had raped a young Lithuanian girl.
A police investigation into the accusation found it to be totally unfounded. The Lithuanian government believes the false report is a fake news story that originated in Russia.
