NEW DELHI -- India on Thursday executed a chartered accountant for his involvement in a series of bombings that struck Mumbai in 1993.

The explosions killed 257 -- 84 of them at the Bombay Stock Exchange -- and injured more than 700. The coordinated blasts remain the deadliest act of terrorism on Indian soil to date.
