SYDNEY -- Australia will revamp its foreign investment laws to increase scrutiny of "high-risk" and "complicated" projects while streamlining the process for known investors in nonsensitive areas, Treasurer Jim Chalmers said on Wednesday.

Chalmers announced the plans during a speech about the government's approach to foreign investment and its industrial policy, a strategy that it has dubbed A Future Made in Australia.
