DHAKA -- University campuses across Bangladesh have turned into battlefields between government supporters and student protesters opposing a quota system for government jobs, resulting in at least six deaths.

The protests have drawn tens of thousands of students nationwide and follow earlier demonstrations that injured nearly 500 people and disrupted major transportation routes across the South Asian nation.
