HONG KONG -- Beijing loyalists on Monday celebrated their landslide victory in Hong Kong's first "patriots only" legislative election, dismissing concerns about a steep drop in voter participation.

"Under the revamp of the electoral system, all the people in the legislature will be patriots," said Starry Lee, chairwoman of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong, after herself winning a directly elected seat.
