BEIJING -- China's government pledged on Saturday to support property developers in distress with "reasonable financing," but not those facing insolvency.

Seeking to shore up confidence in the troubled real estate market, Ni Hong, China's housing minister, said his ministry would coordinate with the financial supervision regulator to support "developers fairly on a project basis."
