China evading some North Korea sanctions, US panel warns

Concessions in return for pressure on Pyongyang risk 'disappointing results'

WASHINGTON -- China is not fully abiding by international sanctions against North Korea, a congressional panel said in a report released Wednesday, warning that excessive expectations for Beijing's cooperation could lead to disappointment.

The U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, composed of former officials and experts on China, raised the issues in its first annual report to U.S. lawmakers under the administration of President Donald Trump.
