China passes law to safeguard preschool children

BEIJING -- Chinese lawmakers have approved a law that seeks to ensure the safety of preschool children following a string of attacks.

The preschool education law requires local government authorities to beef up security and patrols around preschools for children aged 3 and older who have yet to enter elementary school.
