BEIJING -- Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun appeared Thursday to meet with delegates from Africa, according to the government, marking the first announcement of official duties since reports of a corruption investigation targeting him surfaced more than a week ago.
Dong met with the heads of military delegations who came to Shanghai to attend a security seminar concerning the Gulf of Guinea, the Defense Ministry said Thursday. The African nations represented include Nigeria and Gabon.
