China's Communist Party National Congress to wrap up Oct. 22

BEIJING -- China's 20th Communist Party National Congress will end on Oct. 22, a party spokesperson said Saturday on the eve of the top leadership meeting.

The official, Sun Yeli, also stressed that China will keep shifting its focus away from breakneck GDP growth in favor of boosting economic self-reliance.
