HONG KONG -- China's government is intimidating Chinese residents in Japan who are involved in activities critical of Beijing, according to a report by Human Rights Watch (HRW) published on Thursday.

Between June and August, the New York-based human rights group interviewed 25 people from China who now live in Japan and have been involved in various public activities that China "deems unfavorable or threatening to one-party rule."
