SYDNEY -- Commercial airlines adjusted their routes to avoid airspace over the Tasman Sea on Friday, as Chinese warships conducted potential "live fire exercises" in the area.
The three People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) ships -- a Renhai-class cruiser, a frigate and a tanker -- have been followed by Australian and New Zealand forces as they transit the seas off Australia's east coast in recent days.
