SYDNEY -- The Australian government on Monday said it had expressed concerns to China after a Chinese fighter aircraft released flares in the flight path of an Australian helicopter.

The Royal Australian Navy MH-60R helicopter was intercepted by a People's Liberation Army Air Force jet on Saturday after being launched from HMAS Hobart, which was undertaking routine activities in the Yellow Sea as part of Operation Argos, an international effort to enforce UN sanctions against North Korea.
