JAKARTA -- Defense forces from 22 countries gathered on Monday in Indonesia's Surabaya Naval base in East Java for the opening of joint drills led by the Southeast Asian country and the U.S.

For the first time, the Super Garuda Shield drills this year will focus on cyber security exercises, on top of regular programs like live-fire and jungle field training.
