JAKARTA -- Indonesian Army Chief of Staff Gen. Maruli Simanjuntak shared plans for more joint military exercises with other Southeast Asian countries and China, and discussed the contentious revision of the military law and defense industry development in a recent interview with Nikkei Asia.
The four-star general on Tuesday said the army wishes to build more partnerships with other countries in general -- including the United States, European and African nations, and "especially" so with member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
