SEOUL -- South Korean police and arms procurement authorities say North Korean hackers have been targeting the country's burgeoning defense sector over the past 18 months in operations characterized by more diverse approaches and higher levels of complexity.

The National Police Agency said in a news release on Tuesday that South Korean companies should take steps to bolster security, such as changing passwords more frequently, to help prevent infiltration by North Korean hacking groups known as Lazarus, Andariel and Kimsuky.
