SEOUL -- South Korea conducted a nationwide civilian evacuation drill simulating a North Korean air raid on Thursday, hoping to improve public safety in the event of a nuclear or chemical weapons attack.

At a government building in Seoul where about 2,200 people work, employees donned helmets and began heading to emergency shelters when a siren sounded at 2 p.m.
