ISTANBUL -- Turkey and Indonesia are deepening their defense ties, with a recent bilateral meeting highlighting the progress in their collaboration in various areas, including Jakarta's potential participation in a new fighter jet development.

Following President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Jakarta in February, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto paid a return visit to Turkey last week as part of his five-leg regional tour to the Middle East, including stops at the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Jordan.
