SEOUL -- A U.S. nuclear-powered aircraft carrier docked in South Korea on Tuesday amid reports that North Korea will this week carry out another attempt at a satellite launch.

The USS Carl Vinson made port in the southern city of Busan roughly one month after the USS Ronald Reagan, another similar high-powered asset, docked in the same city. The aircraft carrier deployments are part of an agreement reached in April by South Korea and the U.S. to increase the presence of the American military to deter North Korean aggression.
