Disaster-hit prefecture chases medical-device hub dream

FUKUSHIMA, Japan (Nikkei) -- Just four years after being rocked by a nuclear disaster, Japan's Fukushima Prefecture is moving closer to becoming a premier global hub for advanced medical equipment.

     Companies are rushing to set up operations or expand facilities here. If the trend continues, the medical equipment sector could join renewables as key engines of the prefecture's economic comeback.
