BEIJING -- The son of former Chinese President Hu Jintao has been promoted to vice minister of civil affairs, following questions about his prospects after the near-absence of his father from the public eye since the 2022 Communist Party congress.
Hu Haifeng had served as party chief of the Zhejiang province city of Lishui for nearly five and a half years before Tuesday's announcement. During his tenure there, he worked on infrastructure development and promoting tourism, according to Hong Kong media.
