Experts urge tougher sanctions to denuclearize North Korea

The panelists said stronger measures are needed.

TOKYO -- Strong, comprehensive sanctions must be imposed on North Korea for its repeated nuclear tests, former U.S. Undersecretary of State Wendy Sherman said Sunday at a meeting of Japanese and American experts to discuss international affairs.

The Mount Fuji Dialogue, hosted here by the Japan Center for Economic Research and the Japan Institute of International Affairs, began Saturday and wrapped up Sunday.
