ULAANBAATAR -- Asian and European leaders kicked off their two-day meeting here on Friday in a mood turned somber by a fresh terror attack overnight in France that killed more than 70 people and wounded dozens.

Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, who is chairing the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting Summit of Heads of State and Government, offered condolences to French and European people, and asked delegates from 51 Eurasian countries to observe a minute of silence before he presided over the opening session.
