TOKYO -- The rise of China is tilting the balance of power in Asia, and nowhere is that clearer than the South China Sea -- a "proxy" for strategic adjustments between the U.S. and China -- Goh Chok Tong, Singapore's Emeritus Senior Minister, said on Monday in a speech in Tokyo.
The South China Sea territorial disputes, which are being fueled by heightened nationalism in the claimant states, cannot be solved by the notion of "might is right," Goh stressed in a keynote address to the 22nd International Conference on The Future of Asia.
