JAKARTA -- Hundreds of thousands of Indonesians attended pre-election rallies on Saturday, the final day of the campaign season, as presidential candidates made their final pledges ahead of Wednesday's vote.

Prabowo Subianto, the incumbent defense minister; Anies Baswedan, the former governor of Jakarta; and Ganjar Pranowo, the former governor of Central Java, are vying to succeed President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, who has reached his two-term limit as leader.
