JAKARTA -- Prabowo Subianto is on track to win Indonesia's presidential election, quick-count results from major pollsters showed, with the defense minister having a significant lead over his two rivals in Wednesday's vote and likely to gain a majority.

"We're grateful for the quick count results ... This victory must be a victory for all the people of Indonesia," Prabowo said on Wednesday evening during a speech before a large cheering crowd at the Istora Senayan sports complex in South Jakarta. "We must still wait for the official result from the General Elections Commission," he added.
