JAKARTA -- New Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is set to play a high-profile role in global diplomacy while also pushing for development and stability at home, an expert on the Southeast Asian nation told Nikkei.
Dewi Fortuna Anwar, chair of the Institute for Democracy and Human Rights at Indonesia's Habibie Center think tank, said the country's former leaders had taken various approaches toward both diplomacy and domestic politics, and that Prabowo -- who was sworn in as president last month -- would likely combine aspects of these different styles.
