Indonesia seeks South Pacific clout

JAKARTA -- Indonesia recently blew up a Chinese fishing boat for illegally fishing in its territorial waters. The country's president, Joko Widodo, has strengthened control of illegal fishing in order to protect marine resources and stood up to China.

     The country is checking the moves of powerful neighbors to its north and south -- specifically China and Australia.
